Our areas are rife with drugs/alcohol abuse and gangsterism is extemely high in all our areas we service. Our Youth Development Program serves as a beacon of hope to many and it keeps our Youth away from these negative activities and away from crime. The youth face many challenges and as there is no other recreational activities, soccer is the second activity that we offer to keep our youth away from getting involved in negative activities. It is always good to see how they enjoy themselves and just being out and away from the normal conditions. Vrygrond has no space for any recreational activities and we have to drive the soccer players out of the area to enjoy some nice soccer practice in Muizenberg which cost us enormous amounts of petrol money which we do not have as our soccer program is not funded at all. We thank the Danish Rotary Club and the Kromboom Rotary Club that donated the van more than 4 years ago, without that we would not be able to bring our youth out of the area. We are thankful when we see how happy the boys are. We are in dire need of a full time donor for the club. We have alot of amazing players, but we need financial support in order to ensure that the running cost of the club us met every year. To those that support the club, we are thankful. Together we are stronger.
