PROJECTS

EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT

In 2009 we started the Selwyn ECD Learning Programme for abused and neglected children in a container next to our facility after a young boy, Selwyn, was found roaming the streets of Vrygrond without any supervision.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

Our youth are at high risk of becoming involved in criminal activities, because of drugs and alcohol abuse, and the high criminality in our community. The main focus of our programmes is to keep these youngsters away from the streets by showing them alternative opportunities to better their lives.

Training & Development

In March 2012 the soup kitchen, which was original founded and sponsored by the Department of Social Development, became officially part of our organisation. we were able to expand the reach of the Nutrition Program up to 1000 meals per week.

SIBYANE ORGANIC GARDEN

In 2011, Where Rainbows Meet took over a gardening project next to the compound. Now, cabbage, lettuce and many other vegetables are growing. The vegetables go to the nutrition program to feed the children and the community people of Vrygrond. We also sell vegetables to the community of Vrygrond.

SIYAZENZELA SEWING & BEADING PROJECT

Siyazenzela means "We do it ourselves". The name was given by the three ladies that started it in a very small way from their homes in the township of Vrygrond. They make the products theirselves, from their own ideas, enjoying being creative and leaving their hands to make what is in their minds.
