World AIDS Day 2018

The 1st of December is World AIDS Day, which gives us an opportunity to raise even more awareness around the pandemic that is HIV/AIDS. This year on Monday the 3rd of December 2018, we once again took to the streets to raise awareness to pedestrians and motorist alike on the importance of condomizing, abstinence and knowing your status, through our chants, distribution of condoms and speaking to people on the streets about HIV/AIDS.

We eventually entered the day hospital to do a short skit for the patients and hospital staff. The hospital also ran their own program on the morning to commemorate those affected and infected by HIV/AIDS. They also lit a candle in memory for those who lost their lives to the deadly disease.

HIV/AIDS is not something to be taken lightly as thousands of people die each year from the symptoms of AIDS and don't get to live out their full potential and there are millions living with the disease, some unaware of their status and others to ashamed tell anyone about their status, which intern means they not on ARV’s.

Be wise, condomize!
