We were called to come to the community of Phumlani early on Thursday morning, the scene was heartbreaking, to see all these homes destroyed by a horrific fire which started by a 7 year old who was home alone attempting to make a meal to eat.
It is really unfortunate how this is the situation in our communities and what our children have to endure on a daily basis. Out of school, unsupervised and without a meal. The mother has 3 children and is unemployed, she was let go from her job because of her social problems and therefore has to go out and look for work.
On a daily basis these occurrences deter the community and its people from growing and developing themselves.
