End Gender-Based Violence.
GBV affects all of us — not just women, but also men and children. So many people have suffered in silence. In July 2021 to June 2022 alone, 1188 children were brutally murdered. We cannot remain silent. When we have this high amount of brutal murders, it means that our country is failing our children.
Yesterday, Where Rainbows Meet organised a GBV March — walking from Vrygrond Avenue right through Overcome Heights, pass through Seawinds and Lavender Hill, and onto Military Road. This was part of our effort in raising awareness for ’16 Days of Activism to try and end Gender-Based Violence’.
Thank you to those who joined us in the march - this includes our members from Where Rainbows Meet, our various communities from Vrygrond and Overcome Heights, Muizenburg Police Service, as well the CPF and the South Peninsula Football Association. We must stand together and be a voice for the voiceless. Look out for each other and end GBV that is destroying our society as a whole. No more Violence, Break the Silence!
